This study aims to explore the strengthening of students’ empathy character through Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning at SDN 198 Cinennung, Cina District, Bone Regency. Using a qualitative approach, the research describes how PAI learning strategies contribute to fostering students’ empathy, including the role of teachers, teaching methods, and school environment support. The findings reveal that PAI learning oriented toward active participation, exemplary stories, group discussions, and social practices effectively enhances emotional understanding, prosocial behavior, and tolerance among students. These results affirm that PAI holds strategic potential as a medium for shaping empathy character, although challenges such as limited instructional time and diverse student backgrounds remain. School policy support and innovative teaching methods are identified as crucial factors in strengthening the effectiveness of empathy character development.
